The EA Decaffeination process, also known as the sugarcane decaffeination process, involves steaming the beans to open their pores, then bathing them in a solution of ethyl acetate (naturally derived from fruit or fermented cane sugar) and water to attract and dissolve the caffeine. Finally, the beans are rinsed and steamed again to remove any residual ethyl acetate and are then dried and polished.
The result is a decaf coffee that still retains a lot of it's natural flavour, without the taste of solvent or chemicals.
