Ethiopia "La Lesa" Black Honey 74110+74112+Heirloom - Obadiah
International Feature Roaster: Obadiah
This black honey comes from Lalesa in Gedeb, where smallholder farmers cultivate 74110, 74112, and heirloom varieties at 2,150–2,200 masl. The coffee is processed at Ephtah’s Lalesa site, one of the largest drying facilities in Gedeb, with around 400 drying beds.
For the black honey process, ripe cherries are floated and briefly rested before being pulped, leaving a generous layer of mucilage on the parchment. The coffee is then slowly dried under shade for around 25 days, with regular turning to ensure even drying.
Expect a balanced cup with notes of stone fruits, caramel, and a sweet finish.
