This natural community lot comes from Shantawene in Bensa, Sidama, where smallholder “garden farmers” grow Ethiopian heirloom varieties 74110 and 74112 at 2,000–2,200 masl. The coffee is cultivated on small plots beneath native Wanza, Shola, and Tsid trees, with the high elevation and fertile soils allowing the cherries to mature slowly and develop concentrated sweetness and complexity.

Fully ripe cherries are hand-picked and carefully sorted before being dried whole on raised African beds. The cherries are turned regularly throughout the drying process, allowing them to dehydrate slowly while developing the characteristic sweetness of natural-processed coffee.

Expect a crisp and bright cup with notes of bright blackberries, tart cherry and sweet blueberries.
