Kenya "Gachatha" Washed SL28+SL34+Ruiru 11+Batian - Tim Wendelboe
Feature Roaster: Tim Wendelboe
This washed lot comes from the Gachatha wet mill, one of Nyeri's long regarded washing stations, where several hundred smallholder farmers grow predominantly SL28 and SL34, alongside smaller plantings of Ruiru 11 and Batian.
The ripe cherries are hand-picked, carefully sorted, and depulped before undergoing 12–16 hours of dry fermentation. The coffee is then washed, density-graded, and slowly dried on raised beds for 10–14 days with regular turning and careful hand-sorting.
Expect an expressive and fruity cup with notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, and sweet raisins.
