Luis Anibal Calderon is the owner of Fince Villa Betulia, located in Acevedo, in the Huila department. Luis lives with his wife and 3 sons and he has been growing coffee for over 40 years.

He began planting specialty coffee varieties in 2012 when he planted 5,000 trees of Geisha on around 5% of his farm. Ten years later turns out that from cultivating Geisha were worth the extra effort, so he decided to dedicated his entire farm to more delicate and rare exotic coffee varieties, such as Pink Typica, Stripped Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, Java, Sidra, Pacamara, Maragogype, alongside Geisha.

On Finca Villa Betulia you will find all sorts of exotic varieties including Red Gesha, Typica, Sidra, Wush Wush, Mokka or Java.

Our authentic microlot is a JAVA 100%. This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to use only the ripest cherries and after it has been harvested the coffee cherries are exposed to a dry anaerobic of 72 hours fermentation with pulp on. Then it is moved to grainpro bags below 20 degrees Celsius, in this environment bacteria feeds from carbohydrates and sugars from mucilage. This leads to a higher concentration of lactic acid.

Expect notes of papaya, hibiscus, banana, and melon.
