★ Ethiopia "Gesha Village Lot 26/136 Oma" Honey Gesha 1931 - Daturra
Feature Roaster: Daturra
At Gesha Village in Bench Maji, the Oma block sits at 1,931–2,040 masl within one of Ethiopia’s most renowned coffee estates. Established in 2007 by Rachel Samuel and Adam Overton, the farm was created to preserve the genetic heritage of coffee from the nearby Gori Gesha forest. This lot is the Gesha 1931 selection, descended from wild Ethiopian coffee collected during the historic 1931 expedition that helped introduce Gesha to Panama.
After careful sorting, the cherries are pulped while retaining their full layer of mucilage. They dry for three days in direct sunlight before continuing under shade for a total of 15–18 days, followed by at least three months of resting before milling.
Expect a refined cup with notes of lavender, sweet mandarin, ripe peach and finishing with floral jasmine and rose.
