This lot comes from the Ruarai washing station in Nyeri, located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Kenya at 1,783 masl. Sourced from surrounding smallholders, coffees from this region are known for their density and complexity, shaped by high altitude and rich soils.
Composed of SL28 and SL34, two classic Kenyan varieties known for their clarity and structure, the coffee is handpicked, sorted, and depulped before a ~24-hour fermentation. It is then washed, density-graded in channels, soaked overnight, and dried on raised beds for around 15 days.
Expect a bright and juicy cup with notes of delicate rose hips, juicy pomegranate and candied grapefruit.
