xBloom Special Release: TANAT Coffee

Grown by agronomist Juan Peña at Hacienda La Papaya in Ecuador’s Saraguro region, this coffee comes from a farm known for its precise, data-led approach. Juan oversees each stage from seed selection in the farm’s genetic bank to cultivation, processing, and quality control. At 1,900 to 2,100 metres, the cool conditions help the cherries develop slowly and build sweetness.

Typica Mejorado is closely associated with Ecuador and prized for its refined sweetness and bright, expressive character. Despite its name, genetic research suggests it is not a true Typica descendant, but a hybrid of Bourbon and Ethiopian landrace genetics. Here, natural processing brings out a silky texture and deep fig and date sweetness, balanced by a fresh pink grapefruit lift.
