La Candelilla is a pioneering family-run micro-mill in Tarrazú, founded by the Sánchez family and now operated by the second generation across seven family farms. It was Costa Rica's first micro mill and is known for innovation, biodiversity-focused farming, and meticulous microlot processing, it remains one of the region’s most respected producers.
Grown at 1,400–1,800 meters on Palmilera farm, this ET-47 Ethiopian Landrace showcases mineral-rich volcanic soil, misty highland conditions, and slow cherry maturation. The Sunkissed Honey process begins with three days of natural-style drying, followed by honey drying with intact mucilage and a final sun-rest that enhances clarity, sweetness, and aromatics.
La Candelilla is an extremely small 90 kg microlot that Swerl purchased in full, selected together with Linus from Tornqvist. With the entire lot shared only between Swerl's and Tornqvist's own subscribers and Nordic Brew Lab, it is one of the most limited and sought-after coffees you can get.
Expect an elegant and syrupy cup with notes of jasmine florals, orange jam, and oolong tea.
