Honduras "Jesus Galeas" Natural Typica - Kaffemik
Jesús Galeas has played a key role in developing specialty coffee in Selguapa, drawing on seven years of experience with the Honduran Coffee Institute (IHCAFE). In 2018, he brought this knowledge home and, through collaboration with Rony Gámez of Cafe Raga, helped local producers access specialty markets, growing from two farmers into the 30-member Los Ramirez group.
Jesús farm La Valeria has expanded from a single manzana to five hectares planted with Pacamara, Catuai, Paraneima, Bourbon, and IH-90. Cherries are handpicked, floated, fermented for 48 hours in sealed GrainPro bags, then slowly dried on raised beds in a solar dryer to preserve clarity and balance.
Expect a sweet cup with delicate yellow plum sweetness, hints of sweet cranberries and a lingering almond finish.
