Kenya "Tinganga Estate" Washed SL28 + SL34 - Kaffemik
Tinganga Estate sits in Kiambu County, just north of Nairobi, and covers 182 hectares. Operated by Sasini PLC, the farm is known for its strong commitment to worker welfare and community support, including a computer lab project at Njenga Karume Primary School in partnership with Olam Specialty. High elevations up to 2,000 masl, iron-rich soils, and steady rainfall allow cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in a bright, refined cup.
Ripe cherries are hand-picked, depulped, and fermented in clean water tanks for 12–48 hours depending on conditions. After washing and density grading, the parchment is sun-dried on raised African beds for two to three weeks, with careful turning and protection from heat and moisture.
Expect a bright and sweet cup with notes of tart lingonberries, sweet rhubarb and a citrusy, floral finish.
